The International Techmart of Vietnam 2012 will be held from 20 to 23 September 2012 at the International Center for Exhibition, Hanoi. The event receives support from EC and ASEAN and will be organized by the National Agency for Science and Technology Information (NASATI) in coordination with SEA-EU-NET project.

International Techmart is designed as an opportunity for international integration in the area of S&T and for bridging the gap between research and innovation.
Techmart Vietnam was held premier in 2003 at the national scale. The last Techmart in 2009 was expanded to include the participation of ASEAN countries plus Japan, Korea and China. Based on the successful organization of previous Techmarts, this year, besides the participation of ASEAN and regional partner countries, International Techmart Vietnam 2012 will be expanded to European countries and beyond. International Techmart Vietnam 2012 will span a wide range of activities such as technology showcase, presentation and demonstration, scientific workshops and policy dialogue, technology study visits, negotiation and contracting, and so on.

International Techmart Vietnam 2012 will especially highlight the ASEAN-EU Year of Science, Technology and Innovation 2012, an initiative by SEA-EU-NET project aimed at strengthening S&T cooperation between the two regions. There will be a YoSTI 2012 Pavilion in the exhibition to demonstrate successful stories of ASEAN – EU science and technology cooperation projects, thus raising public awareness about the importance of international S&T collaboration in dealing with emerging science and technology uncertain. YoSTI 2012 Pavilion will not only highlight the close S&T cooperation between ASEAN and EU, but also provide opportunities for ASEAN researchers to better understand about FP7 and Horizon 2020 in order to increase their participation in these research funding regimes.
