ARM announced the Cortex M0 + chip for sensor
ARM has officially announced the update of Cortex M0 processor named Cortex M0 + has the ability to save energy with the aim to sensors and control systems.
In addition, ARM Cortex M0 + would be a microprocessor is used in appliances, lighting systems as well as medical monitoring equipment.
Cortex M0 + 32-bit chips are capable of consuming only 9 μA / MHz, less than about 30% compared to the traditional chip 8/16 bit use. Although lower power usage but work performance of the new chip higher than rival chips. The goal of ARM is to attract the equipment vendors need to upgrade chip products using 8/16 bit 32 bit move to the new chip.
Cortex M0 + is said to be suitable for a variety of devices and industrial applications in consumer, room light sensor to the engine control sensor.
Currently, Freescale and NXP Semiconductor has signed with ARM in the use of Cortex M0 +, in which NXP Semiconductor is a manufacturer selected chip Cortex M0 also use low power with performance higher than the chip 8 / 16 bit.
